Biographies
Gabriel Crist is a pianist and composer. He has studied piano performance with Mimi Solomon since 2016. In 2015, he was awarded first place in the North Carolina Symphony's Kathleen Price and Joseph M. Bryan Youth Concerto Competition. In addition to playing the piano, Crist has been a prolific composer from the age of five and currently studies with Stephen Jaffe. This past spring Crist received an honorable mention in the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' Morton Gould Young Composer Award competition. Crist has participated in orchestral and chamber music programs, as a pianist, a cellist, and a violinist, with the Duke University String School and the Mallarme Youth Chamber Orchestra. During the course of his musical studies, he has benefited from the instruction of many teachers, including Greg McCallum, Leonid Zilper, Julie Harris, and Candida Yoshikai. Crist was born in North Carolina in 2003 and lives with his family in Durham.
Bonnie Stolt is a Junior at Carrboro High School. She has been playing violin for about 10 years, and plays in both her school orchestra and in the pit orchestra for school musicals. She has also played on her school’s women’s tennis team for 3 years. She enjoys knitting, reading, writing, hanging out with her cat Ferdi, watching Star Trek, and being a huge fan of Captain America.
